Topic for a research

Well since I'm  here in Canada with no wi-fi at my home I am always in a Second Cup Cafè or a Starbucks and i began to think how these place are so popular and frequented, and maybe it would be interesting doing some research on the idea of these spots where you can eat something, drink a coffee, talk with a friend but also stay alone with a book or a laptop, they are so different from italian coffee, so it could be a cultural , psychological and also, why not, economical research on the success of these places...could be interesting?
